Dr Tom Rands BDS (U.LOND) 1986 MFGDP (RCS)

Dr Tom Rands qualified from University London Hospital in London in 1986. He worked in the hospital and completed a year-long post graduate training before joining a general practice, specialising in the treatment of anxious patients. In 1997 he completed training and exams to gain membership of the Royal College of Surgeons.

Following this he joined Boots to help set up and run dental practices throughout the country. Over the next years he became a Senior Clinical Dentist and had responsibility for auditing standards of work carried out within the company. Tom has been with Quaintways Cottage Dental Surgery for over 10 years and lives just outside Alton. He is married with 3 grown-up children.
Dr Charlotte Terry BDS (Birm) 2015

Dr Charlotte Terry graduated from Birmingham University in 2015. She embarked on speciality training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Royal Surrey Hospital in Guildford working with a large specialist team. Charlotte missed working in primary care and so returned to work locally as a General Dental Practitioner.
Charlotte particularly enjoys oral surgery, restorative dentistry and helping anxious patients, but finds great satisfaction in all treatments that help her patients to smile more.
In her time outside of dentistry, Charlotte enjoys exploring mountains with her husband, reading crime thrillers, paddle-boarding and trying her hand at home renovation projects.
Dr Susan J Westhead BDS (N'cle) 1986

Susan comes from Sale, went to Newcastle University then had a year at the Royal Surrey in Guildford. She is the principal dentist at Quaintways.

Prevention is her primary approach & particularly enjoys paediatric, cosmetic & root canal therapy.

Susan provides most our on-call service.
​
She is married with 2 grown up boys & lives nearby in Odiham. She fills her spare time with tennis, yoga & gardening.
Dr Harry Bowden B.D.S (Cardiff)
GDC registration number 300365
Harry grew up in Bentley, he went to Cardiff University and has since been working as a general dental practitioner locally. Harry has also been helping out at Quaintways in various roles since Covid.
Harry has a keen interest in minimally invasive dentistry and particularly enjoys working with anxious patients, paediatrics, root canals and periodontal therapy.
Outside the world of teeth Harry enjoys spending time with his one-eyed spaniel, attempting to learn musical instruments and fishing.
Dental hygienists
Ruben Diaz Conesa
Ruben qualified in Ramon y Cajal Institute, Murcia, Spain 2012 (Cert.HE) in Dental Hygiene. He moved from Spain in 2013 to the UK. Ruben is passionate about his job and enjoys working along periodontal treatments.
On his spare time you might find him with Dittons Velo Cycle Club but also loves singing/playing guitar and water sports.

Susan van der Bijl qualified at the University of Stellenbosch in 1983. She has been practising general dentistry in the UK, since 1992 at clinics in Surrey and Hampshire.
Susan van der Bijl gained a Diploma in Implant Dentistry in 2007 and an Advanced Certificate in Implant Dentistry in 2008 from the Royal College of Surgeons. She is registered with the GDC, BDA and the RCS and continues to update her skills in complex cases of implant surgery.
